Steps to reproduce: 1. Install RC1 from DVD, install a couple of packages for which updates can be found in the packman repository, like kaffeine 2. Add the packman repository to YaST 3. Switch kupdateapplet to zypper 4. let kupdateapplet search for updates 5. Start YaST and show all available upgrades The package "kaffeine" will be in the list provided by YaST, but the upgrade will not be detected by kupdateapplet. The same problem does *not* occur with all repositories (for example, kupdateapplet correctly notices upgrades in the factory repository, when that is added, and other repositories hosted by download.opensuse.org do not seem to be affected as well). I only encountered the issue with the packman repository, so please use this one when trying to verify the bug. (I assume other repositories might be affected as well, though.) The bug does not come from an incorrectly configured zypper, when I enter zypper up kaffeine on the command line, the package is updated as expected. Some of them have spaces in their names, e.g. "Magicolor 2300 FF". These printers cannot be printed to, while others (e.g. "HPLJ5") can print. When I try to connect with this command: echo -en "\r" | smbclient "//EDEN/Magicolor 2300 FF" -c "print -" -N , the system sends an error message: Anonymous login successful Domain=[VS2000] OS=[Windows 5.0] Server=[Windows 2000 LAN Manager] tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME I tried to replace the spaces with %20 in the connection string, put it into parentheses and apostrophes, but none of them helped. If an samba account shall be added later for a user, this is not possible with the Yast UsersPluginSamba, as this requires changing the password (or setting the same password again). IMHO, this restriction is to strict. The same happens on openSUSE 11.0 - it only works with AMDs proprietary driver (which works very well). When I shutdown regularly from KDE4, I can see there was an error during umounting of the partitions, but the messages are too fast to read exactly what happens. On next boot, the system complains /var was not properly umounted and checks it for errors. It also restores journal on /home. This happens both with shutdown or reboot. On openSUSE 10.3 using KDE3, all special keys of my Lenovo ThinkPad T60p were working as expected. On openSUSE 11.0 using KDE4 as the default desktop, there seems to be no support for those keys at all. In detail, I am talking about the following keys / key combinations: - FN+F2 : Lock Desktop - FN+F3 : Turn off Display - FN+F4 : Suspend to RAM - FN+F5 : Switch Wireless (Bluetooth and WLAN) on/off - FN+F12 : Suspend to Disk - FN+HOME : increase Display Brightness - FN+END : decrease Display Brightness - Volume up / down / mute The only key combo that is working is FN+PAGEUP to switch the ThinkLight LED on/off to enlighten the keyboard. There are other key combos I haven't tried yet: - FN+F7 : Switch video output / connected displays - FN+F8 : No idea what this is supposed for, could be enable/disable the built-in Synaptics TouchPad and TrackPoint - FN+F9 : Not sure what this is used for, maybe eject the Docking Station? I don't have one. - FN+SPACE: No idea what this is supposed for. - ThinkVantage button: AFAIK, there is no ThinkVantage support for Linux (yet).
