In comparison, when I ltrace a wish executable that has been linked statically against libtcl and libtk, I get almost 13MB of ltrace output from a wish that starts up and exits immediately. For wifi connected status I would suggest just other colors, and _not shaded_. It is too much, really. Take a look at kwifimanager -- its icon is much more readable (i.e. it presents desired readability). Cable connected -- the icon is a bit too cryptic, the icon size is limited so when you try to put rotated image of the plug, what do you get? Only few pixels to draw image. The same goes for disconnected icons. The new linker still finds the old libs during %post. A possible solution is either to reenable the lib building and waste some build power. In my case, this resulted in cups not being able to function as its port 631 was stolen. The rogue line of code is in glibc-2.4/sunrpc/bindrsvprt.c, line 91: if (*tmp != '\0' || (port == ULONG_MAX && errno == ERANGE)) tmp is pointing to the first character after the port number. With the supplied blacklist, this is a tab character, resulting in the line being rejected. As far as I can see, this line serves no useful purpose and is an overkill for validation, and It should be removed.
