I've installed a 32 bit SUSE 10.2 too, this driver doesn't crash with XVideo. Creating mount points manually everything goes fine until you try to restart autofs since the mount points are removed when stopping autofs. The cups interface at localhost:631 shows the printer alright, but no pending job. Printing a test page from the cups interface at localhost:631 works fine. Printer is Canon iP4000 using Gutenprint drivers connected via USB. Even if nothing (!) is to be installed on this partition (in that case mounted to /os1). I would call that a bug as well, but it could be a design decision. If the user selects "Do not show this message again" and chooses to continue, the window immediately pops up again. And again. And again. Once per package. If you do *not* select this option, it vanishes.
