Even if you have a fast and stable FTP there will like be some connection problems. So you can't just leave a computer on installing over a FTP but have to watch it and click "Ok" once in a while to retry a failed download. The same is true if you later add a FTP as a source in yast. It would be much better if yast could automatically retry 5-10 times before prompting the user. Again, init=/bin/bash, mount /proc, mount /sys. Then I tried all combinations of s2ram options that make sense according to http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram, each with -v added. The results are different, but none is working. With the following combinations, the caps lock key shows reaction: -f -v -a2 -f -v -p -m -f -v -p -s -f -v -p -f -v -m -f -v -s But none of them brings the backlight back. But I didn't write the combinations down. Would they be useful information? This means the installation source is then inaccessible. Because of the use of random names for the cache directories /var/lib/zypp/cache/Source.*/, re-adding the source does not re-use the cache directory and the previous downloads are wasted and are dead disk space. Nvidia SATA RAID disabled in BIOS. Installation with apci=off (needed) will proceed to loading of "sata_nv" where it hangs. If "brokenmodules=sata_nv" is appended at boot, the installation proceeds and loads "generic" (sata driver?) only to say that "no disk is available for installation". It seems that the "nVIDIA nForce 570 Ultra" support needs some adjustments. This is unnecessary: As gecko-sharp2-docs already depends on gecko-sharp2, the extra dependencies are implicit (gecko-sharp2-docs requires gecko-sharp2, gecko-sharp2 requires all the rest), so there is no need to explicitly duplicate everything in gecko-sharp2-docs.
