I guess you have used YaST to enable those. We could add a check to YaST which tries to find out whether the files of the resource group the user is going to activate are installed in the system. But OTOH I think it might be more effort than it's worth. We could add a hint to the help that an active resource group does not necessarily mean the appropriate package is installed. But I don't know, how the recovery process works, if you have to restore the whole backup in case if you lose all your data. I don't know if the recovery needs the XML file, or if it can work without. What you can do e.g. is to save the XML file to ~/.yast-backup and the rest to the tape device, and then tell the user to backup the XML-files separately. I had already built cvs with Pavel's commit+cleanup myself, but will continue with this binary. -a2 works (25 tries so far), but I noticed another X-related problem: Sometimes (not always), OpenGL applications like glxgears and googleearth are just drawing a completely black window after resume. This happens independently of the other, more general X corruption. The rest of the desktop is OK if this happens. For example I use a KDE Desktop and use Evolution as the email client and Kmail was completely deinstalled prior to upgrade. The upgrade process installed both Evolution and Kmail, other and possibly not yet to be found applications may either be missing or additions made.
