When I was running xgl on this machine with SLED 10 I was able to increase the amount of sides that the cube displayed. I changed it from 4 to 6 and now the cube doesn't display properly. It is like it is trying to show both the cube and the 6 sides at the same time. However when I start up the desktop (gnome) I don't see NetworkManager in the notification area, and I also didn't have internet connectivity. This is openSUSE 10.2 using the gnome desktop. Therefore the power management setting are being configured in the gnome-control-center power management section. The configuration is setup so that suspend occurs if the lid is closed only while running on battery. If running on AC power and the lid is closed then it is set to not suspend. So inside the power management settings there is a Running on Battery tab I have the sleep set to 11 minutes and the actions set to suspend when laptop lid is closed. On the running on AC tab I have the action set to blank screen when laptop lid is closed. Issue: This setup works if you unplug the power before you close the lid. Then it will suspend properly. However if you close the lid first and then disconnect the power it does not suspend. This is the bug. If you then open and close the lid again it will suspend. However it should check to see if the lid is closed as soon as the power is disconnected so it know whether or not to suspend. It should not rely on the user to unplug the power before closing the lid. I have VMwareWorkstation-5.5.3-34685 installed on this workstation. Everything seems to be functioning properly if I run it under kde, but if I run vmware under gnome then I am unable to use the "browse" button. The package and OS information is as follows: -openSUSE 10.2 beta2plus -devilspie-0.18-12 -compiz-gnome-0.2.2-12 -compiz-0.2.2-12 In this example I am trying to place firefox and evolution on two separate view ports. During the download process on that mirror I received the following error: Cannot access installation media. Check that the server is accessable. see the attached screen shot for the rest of the error message.
