In /etc/sysconfig/bluetooth, I have: START_SERVICES="yes" HCI_START="yes" SDP_START="yes" RFCOMM_START="yes" HID_START="yes" But I get the same before and after plugging in the adapter: $ /etc/init.d/bluetooth status hcid (activated) hidd (activated) hid2hci unused sdpd (activated) opd unused rfcomm (activated) pand unused dund unused Expected results: The activated services should be running. This orignally happened on my amd64 machine. I discovered the the hal daemon wasn't running and started it and everything showed up fine.
