After your braille display is detected, you must switch manually to profile 2. I'm sorry, but I can't you tell the shortcut for this. But i'll have a look for it.

I am working with another brailledisplay, but I made the same experiences... the brailledisplay was detected and than... nothing! I already contacted the support but no answer! Well, I think we have to wait a little for the answer :-(. But I can tell you, that I am a bit disapointed. Hope they won't let us wait to long.

I need to know the device, because the keycombination for switching to profile 2 differs on every brailledevice. It also is posible, that the automatic recognition dont't work for your brailledevice. But my problem is always the same : you can read emul 2? taht's a message from the baum display The braille display is detected but I can't do the installation myself because the braille display doesn't focus the cursor on the screen and then even I can read the screen I don't know what item is selected on the screen. is it right that your braille display works? only the focus is not displayed? What can I do to resolve this problem ? first listen to the internelspeaker if you switch to profile2 the speaker must beep to times (short beeps)

Another question : What soft is used to display the screen contain on the braille display ? Hi Nath!

You have to switch manualy to profile 2 for using yast2 during installation. With your vario you can do that, if you first press the B003- and then (together with the B003-button) the B006-button. The buttons on your brailledisplay are:

display keys lft/right top to bottom: B005 B001 B006 | B002 B003 B004

So you have to press the lowest key on the left and the mittle key on the right site. You'll hear tow beeptones, if profile 2 has been loaded.

Hi Nath! I've got new informations refering to your brailledisplay. To switch to Handytech protocol make the following steps: After switching on the brailledisplay you cann see the version of the firmware. With the pushbuttons on both sides of your brailledisplay you can enter the menu, by pressing either the upper or the lower button. Jump into the menu ^OProt^O (Vario 40) or ^OBaum Protocol^O (Vario 80). Press now a routingbutton after the field pb1 oder pb2 (Vario 40) or power braille (Vario 80). Now the protocol is saved and you should be able to work with SBL. Please tell us, if your brailledisplay is automaticly detected (you should be able to navigate through the screen with the lineup or the linedown buttons). Switch manualy to profile 2 useing the keycombination, that I mailed your a view messages ago. When my Vario is detected I can navigate lineup and linedown. we need to know: 1. does the system autodetect your brailledisplay? - if the yast2 comes up in textmode then the display is detected 2. can you see any characters on your display? 3. can you navigate lineup/linedown

maybe there is a problem with the autodetect for vario I was not able to test it, because I have no vario

if you answer the 3 questions I guess christian can help you for futher work
