Hi Marco, Thanks a lot for your response. But the problem is always here. In my previous message I told that I know how to switch to profile 2 but I think I've not undertstand what is the profile 2. I thoght it was the emulation mode on my Vario but it seems to be something to load when you start the PC with the cdrom. Then what may I do when I start the PC to switch to profile 2 and which cdrom may I use to begin the process (1 or 2) ? thanks. didn't wirks. But I know how to switch on profile 2 and I mad it. On my braille display I can read "emul. 2". But my problem is always the same : you can read emul 2? taht's a message from the baum display The braille display is detected but I can't do the installation myself because the braille display doesn't focus the cursor on the screen and then even I can read the screen I don't know what item is selected on the screen. is it right that your braille display works? only the focus is not displayed? What can I do to resolve this problem ? first listen to the internelspeaker if you switch to profile2 the speaker must beep to times (short beeps) thats the signal for (profile2 is loaded) usauly, the focus is underlined with dot 7,8 (attributes) Another question : What soft is used to display the screen contain on the braille display ? Is it Brltty or is it another soft ? suse-blinux is based on brltty I used some function from brltty, but the softcursor-routines and any another routines are totaly different to brltty Last question : If I must realize the installation with another person who helps me during the process may I use Yast2 in text mode with my braille display or can I install the drivers for my braille display after installing the distrib ? yes, you can install the driver after the system-installation start yast and install the package "sbl" you find it in series AP Thanks.
you're welcome :-)

Hi Nath!
You have to switch manualy to profile 2 for using yast2 during installation. With your vario you can do that, if you first press the B003- and then (together with the B003-button) the B006-button. The buttons on your brailledisplay are:
display keys lft/right top to bottom: B005 B001 B006 | B002 B003 B004
So you have to press the lowest key on the left and the mittle key on the right site. You'll hear tow beeptones, if profile 2 has been loaded.
Hope that helps ;-)!
Best regards, Schoeppi
