Hi Friends! For a long time I was looking for a good, multi-functional MP3- Player for the Linux Console. I didn´t found one. I currently use mpg123, but I don´t like it. I would prefer a Player that supports moving backward/forward in a song, increase/decrease volume,... It should also include a feature to move through directories and select files. There is an excellent player for Dos/Win32 (called open Cubic Player). On the web-page, they wrote something about a linux-portation, but it seems to me that it is not ready yet. Perhaps, someone could help me with that problem. Regards - Daniel! PS: If you know about a player that also supports other formats (wave, Midi, Wma,...) please tell me!

Hey Daniel, I use freeamp or mp3blaster to play mp3-Files. Both players supports moving from track to track and within a track. Both players can handle playlists. Freeamp has no file-manager capabilities but he can play mp3-streams. Mp3-blaster has a filemanager included, so you can select files (also in all subdirectories) and create playlists. Both players are included in the SuSE-Linux Distri in series snd. best Regards, Henning Oschwald ------- Henning Oschwald SuSE-Blinux Support mailto: hoschwa@suse.de SuSE-Blinux Homepage: www.blinux.suse.de
