Different algorithms for passwod encryption/hashing ?

Hi, I've just stumbled about the missing LDAPAuthPWType SSHA, which is the default algorithm used in OpenLDAP. Crypt and plain are supported in the ftp-proxy, but ssha is not, as far as I can see. Is there any chance for this being supported or any reason why this is not the case ? Thanks, JanUwe

Hi. we are looking for a possibility to split our ftp users in two different groups taking different ways out of our network into the Internet. One of them should be able to connect to the firewall (and therefore the Internet) directly, while the others FTP data will have to be scanned for malware/virus. The most elegant solution would be to look for a certain attribute in LDAP and define the DestinationAdress depending on that Attribute. If that is not possible at all, does anyone see a different possibility, maybe depending on their source IP ? BTW: Is there any internal possibility of the ftp-proxy to use Antivirus scanners ? Hi, I'm looking for a replacement for the FWTK FTP-Proxy and found the Proxy-Suite. The target is to authenticate users who want to do an FTP connection from the LAN to the Internet. An optimal solution would be a LDAP-query, as the amount of users here is quite big, and IPs can change, while a userID is unique. Can this accomplished using the FTP-Proxy or does it only support the transparent mode when going from LAN to Internet ? Thanks for any hints, Jan-Uwe Finck

Installation error chroot libdb*

Hello, at fresh installed Suse 9.3 with ftp-proxy-suite and compartement. (btw. same issue with 9.2) "/etc/rc.d/ftp-proxy chroot" results in error message: no such file or directory '/lib/libdb*' libdb* files are in /usr/lib/ second problem came up: no such file or directory '/usr/lib/libdbus-glib-1.a' its because no x-rights exist for this file. I think we don't need the libdbus libraries for ftp-proxy. Correct startscript line 555: - LIBS="/lib/libnss* /lib/libnsl* /lib/libresolv* /lib/libdb*" + LIBS="/lib/libnss* /lib/libnsl* /lib/libresolv* /usr/lib/libdb-*" Now all seems correct. Is it really o.k.? Frank
