FYI - OpenBSD 3.0 PF transparent proxy patch

It will still not compile out of the box due to makefile issues; however, the major problem of not being able to get the original destination address as a result of a redirect is fixed with these patches. Be advised that the patches are not extensively tested. I've just quickly whipped them up and they are working for me. I was unable to find any documentation on the pf interface from a programmer's point of view, so the changes are the result of reading the kernel and pfctl code and trial and error. Please feel free to do with these patches as you like. I only ask that if you do choose to include them in the distribution that you let me know what version they will appear in. Thanks! Trouble with inetd on Solaris 7

We are able to run Suse proxy as a daemon, but we are unable to run it using inetd. If run through inetd, netstat shows inetd listening on FTP port. Using FTP client to connect to the port, it appears to connect, but gets no response beyond initial connect, and inetd does not spawn the proxy. Telneting to port 21 gets connected, but does not get any further response. To change from daemon mode to inetd mode, we changed the appropriate line in the conf file and changed the inetd.conf ftp line to point to \user\local\sbin\ftp-proxy and sent a kill -HUP to inetd. I am sure we are just overlooking something obvious, but would appreciate the help. Thanks, Michael

Different User configuration in Proxy-Suite

Hello, Working with Proxy-Suite I wished to setup different user groups, having different destination addresses, but having in each group some exceptions. So I started with some sections in the config-file like: [foobar111] DestinationAddress x.x.x.x [foobar112] DestinationAddress x.x.x.y [foobar1*] DestinationAddress x.x.y.y [foobar*] DestinationAddress x.y.y.y unfortunately i figured out, that this is not working (even not in the reverse order). As the usernames (~sections of the config-file) are sorted alphabetical before searching the right entry, proxy-suite will allways find the [foobar*]-section first for foobar12, foobar111 and so on... Would it not much better to keep the entries in a list like in the config-file, which would allow to have specific entries with special treatment first before some general rules. Second would it not helpfull going to the list and using the section-name as a regex to the username given down from the login prompt, instead of just cutting away the rightbound asterisk (*) ? Are there other people in the list having similar needs or working solutions? How can I use proxy-suit?

thank you very much. i'll try. but first I have to fix some problems caused by the BulletProofFTP. That stupid thing is closing the TCP link too fast, so that all proxys that where not build to work with it get an errorous file. other question: where can i find a feature list of a SOCKS 5 Linux Proxy?
