Hi! Just a short question: Is it possible to restrict access to special machines using the proxy-suite and no ldap?? If it is, how to do that? Sorry but haven't found anything in the documentation yet (or just haven't seen it, not sure). linux + windows problem

Hi ppl, I have installed SuSE 9.0 as reiserfs format and Windows XP as ntfs on the same hard-disk. The problem is that while working on Linux I am able to access as well as read the windows partition, but not write to it. Right-clicking on one of the windows icons (like C,D,E) shows that the partition is writable into (under the permissions tab) but its not so. But when i see the permissions of the windows partitiion using la command it shows only readable. I am not able to change the access permissions using the chmod command also. Even during the installation I did writable. Plz help me out. Thanks, Albert

iptables + squid Problem

Hi people, I have a big problem with my Suse 9.1. I am trying to configure an iptables rule to redirect all the outgoing traffic from my computer to http port to a local proxy in the same computer. So, i have only one interface (eth0) and a squid server installed and listening in port 3100. I ONLY want that all traffic from MY computer were be redirected to MY squid server BUY without reconfugure konqueror options. I have tested this option in Suse 9.0 and other linux with this rule: # iptables -F # iptables -t nat -F # iptables -t nat -A OUTPUT -p tcp --dport 80 -j REDIRECT --to-ports 3100 Why it goes well in Suse 9.0 and other version of Linux and in Suse 9.1 not. Is a bug? And , i have executed # iptables -t nat -nvL and it seem that no traffic go through OUTPUT chain. Why????? Thanks. Regards.
