Hi, Thanks for that. Actually, I downloaded version 2.7 from the leapftp site. Managed to get it to work by choosing Preferences/Proxy, host 192.168.1.1 port 21, selecting Socks firewall and no username/password on the preferences. On the site manager I set the site to a single space character and set the username to user%www.sitename.com and the password as appropriate. Seemed to work fine. Is there a more elegant way? Hello, Does anyone know of any good shareware/free windows ftp clients that can use the features available in suse ftp-proxy, specifically magic-characters, i.e. login with username%ftp.suse.com etc,. TIA Andy

could not retrieve remote file

Dear all, we are usinge proxy-suite on sun solaris 2.7 and 2.8 We have the problem that often (but not always) a download is aborted with the messages "could not retrieve remote file". The trace file does not say more than "Transfer aborted. data connection closed". Also in the debugging mode (option -v 4) I can't get more information. Does anybody know about such problems with proxy-suite? For solaris I had to build inet_aton.o for the common/libcommon.a Could there be a reason for my problems? Where can I get a stable inet_aton.o?
