In KDE3.5 kwrite had a nice little magnifier in the tool bar that would change the font size. In 4.1 it is gone.
It was just removed from the default toolbar. It is still in the View menu.
You can restore the Enlarge Font/Shrink Font actions to the toolbar with Configure Toolbars from the Settings menu.
Hmmmmm.....Thanks for replying Will. I tried that before I posted. I saw it in the View menu, but Settings > Configure Toolbars does not show that as an option.
If you switch the combobox over to the kate part's toolbar, it will. I know, it's not exactly user- or partially-sighted-friendly. It would be very neat if someone took the time to make these initial settings on a clean .kde4, then do a diff -ur to the original, then we could either supply a kdebase4-openSUSE-partiallysighted.rpm that installs the changed *uirc files systemwide , or some kind of kpersonalizer that runs once per-user could copy them to their .kde4.
