Hello together, tomorrow is the last Z training session of the Z training series at 19:00. Last time we went through the memory management and the processor architecture. This time we will go through the difference between zfcp and dasd as storage devices (attached disks). Afterwards you will receive an introduction about qeth as a network device/interface. The last step will be more interactive. We will use the s390-tools and watch, what you can do with this special package. Are you interested for the next learning sessions? openSUSE/SUSE zSystems BBQ Party

Hello together, The summer is coming. Since 2 years we have got already the habit in our team to meet us for a BBQ Party. There was a suggestion, that we should add it in front or at the end of the openSUSE Conference, that most of us can participate. The openSUSE Conference will be from 26th until 29th June 2024. How about adding the BBQ to the end of the 29th June, that we go together by car to the garden? Best regards, Sarah

Hello together, as mentioned 2 weeks ago during the Z introduction training by IBM, we will go deeper into the Z architecture tomorrow at 19:00. If you are interested for a deeper technical knowledge (what can be done based on our existing "z15" hardware), you should join. IBMers are not allowed to teach in such details the community. Therefore, I will do it for our own (based on provided slides in the past and some university lecture material). In the first step, we will go through the different existing components[0].
