as mentioned 2 weeks ago, we have planned bi-weekly trainings.
As I heard that we would receive additional people and a lot has been happened in the background,
my decisions has been to change the topic of "CI/CD within OBS to "the mainframe architecture and future planning".
We will meet us tomorrow at 18:00 (German time)/ 9:00 (Pacific time)/ 17:00 (Nigeria) / 13:00 (Brazil) on our openSUSE Jitsy: https://meet.opensuse.org/s390x
Topics for this session:
1) Technical mainframe architecture
2) Planning with Trello or our ticket system progress.opensuse.org (having an better overview about our ToDos)
3) Status update
4) Q&A (open for questions for people missing in the last session)
I created a ics file with calendar entries for our bi-weekly sessions.
That is attached and downloadable in the wiki.
I expect, that we will need 1.5 hours.
I am looking forward to see you all. :-)
I am happy to announce that we have received 7 VMs for openSUSE in the LinuxONE Community Cloud today.
These ones will have got a little bit more capacitz than default with 4 vCPUs, 32 GB Mem, 100 GB Disk.
I will list them today on a separate wiki page and everybody responded on the doodle will receive an email with an ip address and the required ssh key.
That will be also the process in the future to receive access to these systems.
What you can do on these systems, what is not possible on the default (120 days):
- Reproducing build errors with dumps from OBS (sometimes more than 4GB memory required)
- Developing and testing bigger containerization projects with the goal Kubernetes
Thank zou to IBM for providing these VMs!
as announced in our last training session, I have updated our wiki page:
Everybody, who hadn't the time to join, can find all required content about the LinuxONE Community Cloud, upgrades to openSUSE Tumbleweed
and our Containerization topics with Dockerfiles there.
We have received the offer to receive VMs with "long-term access" (not only for 120 days).
If you want to receive such a VM, then enter your name here: https://doodle.com/poll/wqyrphvp78um825b?utm_source=poll&utm_medium=link
Others can not see your name. I will forward the number of required VMs to IBM then.
Answer until Wednesday, please.
