Hello together, tomorrow is the next of our training sessions. A lot has happened in the last weeks. Therefore, we will speak about multiple topics. We will meet us tomorrow at 18:00 (German time)/ 9:00 (Pacific time)/ 17:00 (Nigeria) / 13:00 (Brazil) on our openSUSE Jitsy: https://meet.opensuse.org/s390x Topics for this session: 1) Introduction to our s390x team and possible tasks for new team members 2) Linux Distribution Working Group at the Open Mainframe Project approved and the next steps 3) Introduction to Packaging (bascic osc commands, structure of spec files, how to read error messages and fix them, constraints files) 5) Q&A (open for questions for people missing in the last session) 2 weeks ago we had one new joiner interested for containerization. Therefore, we switched the topic there. Additionally, I believe that we should split the packaging topic to 2 sessions. Additional hints/ updates for tommorow. Everybody should have logged in into our ticket system https://progress.opensuse.org/ before this session. Afterwards, I can add you as users of our project with the integrated Kanban Board. Results of the Grace Hopper Celebration Open Source Day

Hello together, I wanr to say "Welcome!" to all new people joining us after the last Open Source Day. Last Friday we had a good mixture of Mentees from a university Student until real experienced Software Engineers with more than 10 years of experience. We had 25 interested and really motivated Mentees. Multiple of them want to join our team now! The sonsored VMs by IBM were really interesting for long-term open source contributors joining us for this hackathon. @Elizabeth: I had to forward your email address as a point of contact for other open source projects with interest for long-term access! :-) Best regards, Sarah
