[opensuse] xdebug.so on openSUSE 10.3 apache2 won't load as Zend extension
Hello. I ran into problem setting up xdebug extension on my openSUSE 10.3 box. I tried compiling xdebug from sources, installing with pecl, same result: it won't load as ZEND extension. If I use zend_extension=xdebug.so, it won't load at all, if I use just extension=xdebug.so, it loads and shows its variables in phpinfo, but it not working and in php info, there is 'XDEBUG NOT LOADED AS ZEND EXTENSION' text box under xdebug section. I ran it successfully on ubuntu server, only difference is that ubuntu install does not have suhosin patch, which i don't know how to turn off to see it it's a cause (i don't have php5-suhosin package installed, it looks like it default with php5 under 10.3). -- s pozdravom do zatvy Edke G-mail: edke.kraken@gmail.com ICQ: 47405942 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

of course it will not load, zend_extension = directive takes an absolute path, while extension= takes a relative path to the extension_dir. Just try the repository I mentioned in a previuos post, because it is the only way we know it works for sure and why I have spent thousands of hours on it :P -- "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." --Albert Einstein Cristian Rodríguez R, Core Services SUSE LINUX Products GmbH Research & Development http://www.opensuse.org/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I tried as you suggested and it works flawlessly. Point was in absolute path with zend_extension as you said. Didn't know that. I checked xdebug.so website, there is note about absolute path, but didn't know that I can't use relative one. Thanks a lot, my problem is solved thanks to you. Anyway great repository, I'll check out rest of the extensions, maybe I'll find some to be useful for my projects :) -- s pozdravom do zatvy Edke G-mail: edke.kraken@gmail.com ICQ: 47405942 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Check pecl_http, XCache , Fileinfo, imagick....those extensions are generally useful in common situations ;-) -- "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." --Albert Einstein Cristian Rodríguez R, Core Services SUSE LINUX Products GmbH Research & Development http://www.opensuse.org/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
