New Postfix builds for SuSE with MySQL.
I've finally made some new Postfix builds for SuSE Linux. The new builds are available for SuSE 9.3 and SLES9. The builds include MySQL lookup support. You find them at http://www.norrbring.biz/SuSE/ Anders Norrbring Norrbring Consulting.

IMHO SUSE should ship a postfix-mysql package, is a very useful feature.

ISTR there were licensing issues with mysql that prevented this. I could be wrong, but I do know there was a huge discussion regarding mysql+php a while back, with the new mysql license

Wasn't that the other way around? PHP coders who were doing proprietary/closed stuff resented the MySQL license change to GPL, which meant their stuff had to be GPL too if it linked directly to it. -- Pob hwyl / Best wishes Kevin Donnelly www.kyfieithu.co.uk - Meddalwedd Rhydd yn Gymraeg www.cymrux.org.uk - Linux Cymraeg ar un CD!

Hm, that does ring a bell. Postfix is released under something called the "IBM Public License". Perhaps the issue then is that it isn't compatible with the GPL

I think the mayor issue here,is the feature that we lost. other distros like Trustix,Debian;Ubuntu,Centos(on contrib section) have alternative packages or simple a postfix-mysql.rpm "module".
Then, perhaps, pgsql. On 5/28/05, Anders Johansson <andjoh@rydsbo.net> wrote:

Do you have a version for 9.2? amd64 in particular. Or, any idea if there are any issues using the 9.3 version on 9.2? Thanks Rob Quoting Anders Norrbring <lists@norrbring.se>:
