Yast, DHCP, and DNS config settings
Does anybody know where Yast stores the DHCP, and DNS settings? I want to add value to them via a program/script... But for the life of me I can't find where Yast stores them... Jerry

Usually set up in a chroot jail by default. Look to /var/lib/dhcpd and /var/lib/named. Stan

But for the life of me I can't find where Yast stores them... /etc/sysconfig/network You will find several scripts including dhcp. -- Jerry Feldman

I don't use DHCP here at home, well I do but use the Linksys router for that, so can't reply to that part. DNS settings are located under /var/lib/named If you are setting up a master zone it will be under the master dir. The main config file is /etc/named.conf -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989 SuSE since 1998 * Only reply to the list please*

/etc/named.conf /etc/dhcpd.conf If I understand correctly, named and dhcpd run in a chroot jail. They copy the config files from /etc to /var/lib named and /var/lib/dhcp on startup. If you edit the files in /var/lib/named and restart named, these files will be overwritten with the ones from /etc. Same for dhcp. So edit the ones in /etc then restart the service. At least that is the way I understand it. Good luck Doug

Yes, that's how it works, Peter
