Yesterday, I upgraded 2 systems to Leap 15.2. I've noticed a couple of differences on the task bar. First off, open items are no longer sorted alphabetically. Also, apps running on other virtual desktops are no longer shown on the task bar. For example, I have 4 virtual desktops in KDE. If I have something running on desktop 2, it's not in the task bar for desktop 1. Why were these changed?

Hi James,
if you right-click on the taskbar and go to settings (Alt+D,S), you can actually change its behaviour. Just click what you want.

These are configurable, but perhaps they changed the defaults.
Right click on the task bar, and select "Configure Task Manager"
Then click on "Behavior". You should be able to configure both of those the way that you want them.

I don't think you should have to, but I'm not certain. First try setting the sort to some other choice, maybe try "manual" to see if that works, then set it back to alphabetical. If that still doesn't work, then log out.

Seriously? It's that object at the bottom of your screen, where you can switch between applications with just a mouse click, and start new ones with only 2 or 3 of them -- or just one, if you add a link to an app into the object.

It was originally Manual, which I changed to alpha. I don't often log out of this system, as it runs 24/7. I'll try on my ThinkPad later.

Under behaviour, I found Sort, which was Manual and I changed to Alphabetically. It didn't make any difference.

He does not use plasma5/kde5 as dm so will not see the panels mentioned.

Apparently, log out/in is needed for that change to work.
