If I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times ;). Get an es1371- or es1373-based sound card, such as the SoundBlaster PCI128. For an idea of a reasonable price, have a look at: http://queen.pricewatch.com/search/search.idq?ne=20626&l=20580&qc=%22PCI128%22*&CiCodePage=Windows-1252&cr=PCI128 -- -=|JP|=- Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions -o) jpennington@atipa.com | http://www.atipa.com /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | 816-241-2641 x121 _\_V 6D04 39E0 CAE9 9ADA 2CA3 2EBE 898A 6C37 CA1E A29C -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

And I'd say, get a Hoontech 4D Wave NX ;-) This will get you the currently
only card with a S/PDIF fully supported by ALSA and support for four
speakers. Here in Germany I paid ~ $50 for it, YMMV.
And while I have your eye, congratulations from me ;-)))

Sorry I haven't got back before and replied to all mail but I have been tied up with something called WORK. In the meantime a nice shinny new SB PCI128 arived on my desk. So I put it into my system, got out my trusty SuSe manual (Same as I did with the SB16) and followed the instructions. Low and beholed, I'm am now working away to the sounds of my favorite local radio station. I haven't setup and system sound yet but I don't expec any real problems there. Thanks everyone for your comments & help. -- Regards Del -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
I'm using a solo1 card and works great in 6.4 but not in 6.3. On Mon, 8 May 2000, Derek Ryan (ECMS) wrote:
