[SLE] Kernel panic: VFS: LRU block list corrupted
Kernel panic: VFS: LRU block list corrupted Has anyone experienced this error before? My Linux box had been running fine for over a month. Last night, however, it decided to crash with the above mentioned error. Poor me. I figured something might be wrong with the hard drive or with memory but I was able to boot into Windows just fine. I went as far as repartitioning the hard drive (with DOS' fdisk) and reformatting it but it still wouldn't work. I can't even boot from the Suse Linux boot disk. Any ideas? Any suggested reading? thanks, robert "...set the controls for the heart of the sun" -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
First, what kernel are you running, and did you build with any experimental drivers? We did see a similar problem with Debian on the test drive system, which we tracked down as something amiss with the swap partition. I would suggest that you shut down to single user mode, and run mkswap(8) on your swap partition. Also, make sure that you dont have any overlap of your partitions. Experienced this before, turns out that the RAM module was faulty. Suggest you get another RAM module to test out before purchasing a new one. regards, Wayne Robert Del Huerto wrote:

I'd like to thank everyone who provided input on this problem. I tried several different things from repartitioning to changing hard drive cables. It still didn't work. So, I pulled out all the cards, memory, and CPU and reseated them all. That did it. I'm a happy linux user again. :-) Thanks to all, robert from the fortune program: health - the slowest possible rate at which one dies. Wayne Chan wrote:
