[opensuse] openSUSE 11.0 and ACER monitor ?
Hi. I have an ACER AL1715 monitor, and openSUSE 11.0. I ran SAX2, but I cannot find the AL1715 here. I tried other ACER monitors, but had no luck. What can I do ?. Erik -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Use a generic monitor matching your monitor size. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

What we did time ago: enter the parameters of our monitors by hand :-) - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Ok Carlos.
How did you do that, where ?
In older times, I think it was xconfig, later in sax, now in sax2. I don't remember off-hand what tab it was. May expert config or manual config or something like that. My monitor is not listed, either. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Go delete your existing monitor section paste this into your /etc/X11/xorg.conf Section "Monitor" Option "CalcAlgorithm" "XServerPool" DisplaySize 474 295 HorizSync 30-82 Identifier "Monitor[0]" ModelName "Acer AL2216W" Option "DPMS" VendorName "ACR" VertRefresh 56-76 UseModes "Modes[0]" EndSection Get the correct DisplaySize, HorizSyn, and VertRefresh from your monitor manual or go to the acer web site and download the pdf version. You could simple adjust the DisplaySize above and the remainder will be close enough to get you going since both run at 60Hz. -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E. 1. So do you have any display at all? 2. Whats your Graphics Card? 3. The 'Monitor Designation' is pretty irrelevant. 4. I bet its your refresh rate I have a VideoSeven 19" inch TFT that every Distro insists has a 75HTz refresh when in fact its 65HTz try dropping your refresh rate. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

a) select LCD or Vesa in the monitor list or if this don't work b) start sax2 with the resolution and frequency you want sax2 -V 0:1024x768@70 -- with kind regards, Martin Lasarsch, Core Services SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5 90409 Nürnberg GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) martin.lasarsch@suse.de - http://www.opensuse.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
