'modprobe something' automatically...
Dear All, I'm looking for a way to save a little time, and not to type e.g."modprobe acerhk" everytime manually, but get the module automatically loaded during/after the boot process under SUSE 9.1 ... Please could you tell me, how?! Many thanks, Peli

I will tell you how to find the information. It has been discussed recently on this list. Open a web-browser to google.com/linux and search for: "lists:suse-linux-e modprobe" read the recent threads -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/photos

Add your command : modprobe xxxx yyy in the file /etc/init.d/boot.local it'll be executed at each boot. Michel.

Michel. I got my ndiswrapper to auto-add itself using 'ndiswrapper -m' on the CLI. -- ..."Yogi" CH Namasté Yoga Studio "If music be the food of love, why can't rabbits sing?"
In SuSE, I suggest you to add your favorite module here: /etc/sysconfig/kernel variable MODULES_LOADED_ON_BOOT I don't remember, but I don't think you need to run /sbin/SuSEconfig after. Peli wrote:
