Greetings, I am attempting to make use of the login.access(5) file. However, login(1) seems to skip the part about parsing through this configuration text. I also find that SuSE maps this file, which is described from the man page as being '/etc/login.access', as '/etc/security/access.conf'. Must I recompile something? Both of these files are ignored. Please, give me a clue. The login.access manual page is there only by acciend, it should be removed.

No, we now uses PAM. This means, you need to configure your PAM config files to use pam_access. This PAM module will handle /etc/security/access.conf. Ok cool. I got the pam_access module to work with login. The only problem now is that when proftpd uses it PAM complains about not knowing the tty name. Proftpd claims to be pam compliant (by default), so where can I start to get things working? Thanks again for your help. $ tail -1 /var/log/messages Nov 29 23:51:55 cusa pam_access[708]: couldn't get the tty name hank Thorsten Kukuk [kukuk@suse.de] wrote:
