Greetings,
I am attempting to make use of the login.access(5) file. However, login(1) seems to skip the part about parsing through this configuration text.
The login.access manual page is there only by acciend, it should be removed.
I also find that SuSE maps this file, which is described from the man page as being '/etc/login.access', as '/etc/security/access.conf'.
Must I recompile something? Both of these files are ignored.
No, we now uses PAM. This means, you need to configure your PAM config files to use pam_access. This PAM module will handle /etc/security/access.conf.
