[opensuse] anyone else having problems w/ smart not finding keys?
Started w/ one, and then after the first one it couldn't find ( and undoing that selection ) it's been every other "upgrade" or fix which it thinks I should use.. but it doesn't do anything after it balks on the key. It asked me once if it should use the key it found.. I said "yes" ( it has happened previously ) and it still just sits and doesn't even blink.. eventually I close it and forget it.. but it's getting annoying. PGP and gpgp and kgpg and anything else I could find the was faintly pgp-ish sounding is ( are? ) installed.. Amarok seems borked.. it doesn't even like oggs any more. Forgets it's supposed to use the xine-engine. I hope the install from the boxed set will clean up some of this silly stuff, which I am certain came about from testing this and that ... but I knew I was going to blow this install away when the boxed set came. ( it's so much nicer to have everything in one place rather than hunting round different sites for stuff... <Very evil Grin> ( Obviously I will be haunting some sites .. but hopefully not all the possible ones.) -- j -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Ya, I've had repeated problems with pgp keys and it seems to be related to the site it's getting them from. Best that I can tell it's all about with the pgp key is old or outright borked. The other thing is that it may have to do with the site and its access setup that kludges the keys. Try another site. There was a thread earlier this week about alternate site and using the original (or seemingly so) YaST update packages over ZMD/Novell based package and update tool. The sites recommended there are fairly brisk (is a *.be site) and no problems so far (and reverting back to openSUSE-update schema is more to my liking as well).

Find and and move the Amarok folder and files (don't delete them) and try it again. You did get the Packman updates? They have exceedingly more functionality than the braindead/crippled - we don't want to get sued by morons Novell package. If you have any problems with this post again and well figure it out.

Cheers, Curtis. P.S. Know any good agents or labels (I can trust). I'm getting close to finishing my album (feedback so far is excellent). - Hey! it's worth a shot. :D

Well, one of the long lasting continueal problem with Smart, Zen, and the openSUSE updaters is that a good deal of the time, NONE can get into a packman site!! I'm very greatfull for packman, but for several months connecting to a proper dir. there for updates is almost impossible. Fred -- MickySoft, the ultimate corporate parasite.

I've also been having the same problem with Guru. Funny thing is when I use Firefox to go to the source directory it gets right in, so I doubt a server problem. I can download the package I want to my "Download" directory, but Yast and Smart can't seem to use the local directory as an install source. Before I followed the suggestion to someone else to remove the ZMD packages to speed up Software Manager/Yast2 I used "Install Software", but that's no longer there. Since then I have had to use Kpackage to install things from my Download dirctory. -- (o:]>*HUGGLES*<[:o) Billie Walsh The three best words in the English Language: "I LOVE YOU" Pass them on! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
