[opensuse] SEC_ERROR_INVALID_KEY FIREFOX and THUNDERBIRD 52.3 (64bit) issues
Hello all, I recently upgraded to Firefox 52.3 (and thunderbird too). Whenever I try to use google.com <http://google.com>, I get a "Secure Connection Failed -SEC_ERROR_INVALID_KEY". I would appreciate an insight or help to resolve this. I can reach google.com <http://google.com> and bing.com <http://bing.com> from other browsers, namely Opera and Chromium, but my primary browser is Firefox. I had to downgrade FF and TB to 49 to be able to use. Jide Ogunmekan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Well, I'm using that version (I think) and I don't see that problem. I would not expect any dependency between a firefox and kernel update. If it is so I would say it's problmatic. I would instead try firefox with a fresh profile first. If the problem persist I would try firefox as another or maybe new user with fresh profile too. I forgot to mention, that when browsing there you get redirected to another place. In my case, to: <https://www.google.es/?gfe_rd=cr&dcr=0&ei=613AWbPNIZSt8weO6pmQBQ&gws_rd=ssl> which is an "https://..." address, or you would not get the error you got. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. When I try to contact google.com, it redirects to google.co.uk (which is very annoying!) but then connects OK. No idea if that is relevant. I'm using the same versions as you I believe.

Ok thanks. I downloaded the firefox 55 from the website and it works well. Seems some packages may be broken on my distro. Thanks Jide -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

So after concluding that my system packages were broken, i went about to fix it in the following way. set only the openSUSE 42.2 DVD repo and did a zypper dup ran zypper patch and then zypper up firefox 52.3.0 now works Thanks for all the help.
