Since youtube is not an application, you have to tell us what application you view youtube with. What browser? Also it would be nice to know what back-end is being used by your browser to display the video. (There are some choices, and some work better than others). Running "top" while the video is playing and report the items taking up the most cpu. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Bob, Try running YaST to set up the sound again. I was in the same situation, sound appeared to be working *fine* except for flash videos. I tried a number of things suggested here on the list, but that didn't fix it. The mixer settings in kmix seemed ok, but when I used YaST, it came up with the PCM slider all the way down. Raised it and since then sound works fine in flash videos. Hope this helps. -- Don -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

The PCM slider is available on the Kmix tray-applet. Just click the Mix button. You can also select which slider will be equated to the single slider shown on the Kmix applet by right-clicking the applet. Often this should be set to PCM and the other sliders set to something that sounds good. With some of the intel sound chips it takes a lot of experimentation to determine which channel to equate to the Kmix slider. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

It didn't help, I checked PCM in the mixer and in yast. Still no sound in you tubes. What more do you suggest? -- Bob Rea mailto:gapetard@stsams.org http://www.petard.us http://www.petard.us/blog http://www.petard.us/gallery Where is Bill Stringfellow now that we really need him? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Do you have libflashsupport installed? If so try removing it. There were some updates issued for flash and firefox (as I recall). Is your system up to date? -- Don -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I install4ed flash player ten and got the version of libflashsupport.so from the DVD. It had the same version from one of the other repos. Youtube sound now works and so does the bbc iplayer. Happy man here.
