I am successfully using the version 6.00c2. Mark A
Mark: I installed "ltmodem-kv_2.4.18_4GB-6.00c2-1.i386.rpm" and it doesn't work. My Suse 7.3 uses kernel 2.4.16GB, the c2 version is compiled for Suse 8.0, kervel 2.4.18GB. Is it ok? Here is the problem: "wvdialconf /etv/wvdial.conf" said that "Sorry, no modem was decteted! ..." I tried to use "setserial /dev/ttyLT0 irq 3 autoconfig", and got response "/dev/ttyLT0: No such device". btw, i reboot the Suse 7.3 after I installed the ltmodem driver, it doesn't seem to help ... help!!! Ahhh, sorry didn't think about the fact that that rpm was generated for kernel 2.4.18. Try and have a look at www.heby.de (I think thats the correct spelling) or have a look for winmodems using google. Your best bet is to download the tar file relating to your kernel release. Its really simple to install as all you do is unpack the tarfile and run ./build_module, and follow the prompts. Sorry if I can't help more as I'm also a newbie and spend half my life reinstalling stuff, but good luck. No doubt one of the 'guru's' will be able to add to this. Cheers Mark A
