Hi Guys Where can I put sendmail -q, as a user, so it can run every 15 minutes. I tried setting up a cron job for it but failed as a user. Must I log in as root and set it up there. ? Thanks Mark A
That is done through YaST. Sendmail runs as a daemon and is started by the rc* scripts. I don't recall the exact place in YaST where you set that. On 17 Jul 2002 at 16:54, Mark Annandale wrote:

Yes, but you don't have to log out from your user account. Just do "su" and edit /etc/crontab, and put in a line */15 * * * * root /usr/sbin/sendmail -q Use "sux" instead of "su" if you prefer graphical text editors. regards Anders

How did you do that? Issuing crontab -e as that user should do it. -- Mads Martin Jørgensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogic, with just a little bit more effort?" -- A. P. J.
