Upgrade to KDE 3.0.1 and YaST2 becomes a Chocolate Teapot
Hi All, I've also found problems with YaST2 since upgrading(?) to KDE 3.0.1. The /var/log/y2log' reports [liby2] Y2PluginCompnent.cc(loadplugin) : 228 error loading plugin /usr/lib/YaST2/plugin/libpy2qt.so.2 : libqt.so.3 : cannot open shared object file : no such file or directory [Interpreter] clients/inst_choose_desktop.ycp: 528 Error loading plugin for qt. If anyone has any words of wisdom for getting around this, thanks in advance for your time and effort. Is there a better place to get this reported to the boys and girls @ SuSE? regards ian

I found the libpy2qt.so.2 file in this package on my SuSE 8.0 installation with KDE 3.0.1: yast2-ui-qt-2.5.17-4 Insure that you have this package installed, and if so, verify the installation in case something else deleted the file. I'd run ldconfig afterwards just to be sure. Hopefully, that will help to solve your problem. Later, Andy -- Andy Stewart, Founder Worcester Linux Users' Group Worcester, MA USA http://www.wlug.org

I looked in all the places I could think of on the ftp site. I can't find this version number. The version that my 7.3 machine has installed is.... yast2-ui-qt-2.4.17-18 so I would say this may be the issue for most people. And from the looks of this directory.. ftp://ftp.gwdg.de:0/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/7.3-i386/RPMS.base/ There isn't an update to the version you have. It must be 8.0 only. :( Or at least I can't bloody find it. -=Ben --=====-----=====-- mailto:ben@whack.org --=====-- If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say that the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little. -GC --=====-----=====--
