Re: [SLE] Does this work in your Konq?
I got no problem running this site using Konqueror. On 7.3 pro, java and javascript are turned on. On Saturday 25 May 2002 21:48, you wrote:

Hi, No, I have no explanation, as I'm the least expert on the subject. Out of pure curiosity, I just loaded the site, and it looks just as colorful in Konqueror as in Mozilla. I tried the link to Old Dominion, and it worked well. This surprised me, because in my system (7.3), many sites work well in Mozilla and not in Konqueror; I never understood why.

Now when I say work everybody, I mean fully working! Not just loading up the page to view, but actually being able to click on the links and move around. My pointer in Konq does not even change when moved over a link! I suspect it is a badly coded site as it got fatal errors when run thru a validator site. Mozilla seems to work fine with it as does some of the other browsers from responses received from other users. If you guys are getting full operation of the site in Konq, Steve, Thomas, etc., then what is your secret to making it work?¿ My Konq is 3.0.0 right now and I haven't had an opportunity to test another version yet. I have/had this too. Not one link seemed to work. After i installed kde-mozilla-bindings (or whatever it's called) and in Konqi choose to use the mozilla engine (view => viewmode => KMOZILLA) the links started working. Maybe the people that say it works in Konqi have it configured like this???? Anyway, using Konqueror with viewmode KHTML doesn't work here and with using viewmode KMOZILLA it does.

My Konq is 3.0.0 right now and I haven't had an opportunity to test another version yet.

Cheers, Marcel ======================= Thanks Marcel, I had tried this earlier in my travels and did again just now to test your theory. As I choose the KMOZILLA view mode though, I get an error that reports it could not find the module? What is that all about, a setting or something I have failed to install for Konq?
My suspicions concur with your thoughts though. I believe it written more with Netscape/Mozilla in mind. It is not like life or death for me on this site, I just found it very unusual as I very seldom have a problem with Konq. But me being a very inquisitive person couldn't help but to ask! ;o) Patrick -- --- KMail v1.4 --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.0 --- Registered Linux User #225206 Magic Page Products -- Amiga-SuSE-PC Sales & Service URL: http://home.sprintmail.com/~tracerb

Make sure you installed "kdebindings3-mozilla" from the "kde" package set.

but it sure would be nice to get it working. I know what you mean :-)

Richard, Mine took right off after installing these for Konq 3.0 and the site works just fine now using that. Strange thing I found though was that after I got past the first page, I could put it back to KHTML setting and the other page's links worked ok. Don't ya just love 'good' html programming? ;o) Patrick -- --- KMail v1.4 --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.0 --- Registered Linux User #225206 Magic Page Products -- Amiga-SuSE-PC Sales & Service URL: http://home.sprintmail.com/~tracerb

Ahh! Maybe that's the reason: my Konqueror is the "old" 2.2.1, with java jdk.1.1.8 (what comes default with 7.3). -- Regards, gr, in /usually/ sunny, balmy Florida's Suncoast. Heavynly: adv. A fabulous plate, but high in calories.
