Does anyone know of an open source e-mail list manager for publishing an e-zine or newsletter? If this is the wrong list, a pointer would be greatly appreciated. TIA John

Would Joomla fit the bill? http://joomla.co.uk/ I don't know if that's the actual home page but if not it should have the link to it. -- ============================================== I am only human, please forgive me if I make a mistake it is not deliberate. ============================================== Xmas may be over but, PLEASE DON'T drink and drive you'll make it to the next one that way. Depending on your MTA try: Mailman - for postfix, sendmail or exim (you probably already have it) Majordomo - for sendmail Ezmlm - (my favorite) for qmail search on any of those for more info. Regis

That would be my choice. Ah, in fact that IS my choice.
Majordomo - for sendmail Ezmlm - (my favorite) for qmail
I've always thought ezmlm to be cumbersome for the end-user. For instance, I tend to receive mailing-list mail on one address and post from another. (all mailing-list mail is fed into a news-server here). ezmlm makes it possible, but it's not exactly straight forward. One major thing about mailman that I find attractive is the webinterface which can be customized and fitted into webpages etc. Very neat. So I'm curious - why is ezmlm your favourite? /Per Jessen, Zürich -- http://www.spamchek.com/ - managed anti-spam and anti-virus solution. It's the one SuSE uses for these lists, for instance. But I think that at the time the decision was made, mailman was not mature. I read once that first they chose ezmlm (the best, they said - at least then), thus they had to also to use qmail - not the other way round ;-) - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFDxPgotTMYHG2NR9URAmE/AJ91EjoET2TDLd1cluX6J9cmMt+19ACglp7P NmeoFpLYwee89ZNUup5zay4= =hI0M -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

I guess just familiarity. You're probably right about it not being straight forward. qmail was the mail server I spent the most time with, so I guess I just got used to Bernstein quirkiness. Perhaps more accurately my comment should have been qmail/ezmlm was my favorite server/list manager combination. Regis Matejcik

www.OCLUG.ORG uses Majordomo for our list on an old pII. If you need directions contact Kevin on our list. -- ___ _ _ _ ____ _ _ _ | | | | [__ | | | |___ |_|_| ___] | \/

You're probably looking for something like PHPList (http://tincan.co.uk). If your webhost is running the Fantastico package of scripts, it is included in that. -- Pob hwyl / Best wishes Kevin Donnelly www.kyfieithu.co.uk - Meddalwedd Rhydd yn Gymraeg www.cymrux.org.uk - Linux Cymraeg ar un CD
