[opensuse] Flickering display in LibreOffice Writer

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I got a strange flickering effect in the display of photos in at least one LO writer document. The CPU goes to 150% usage while this happens; although edting works it is tiring. It stops as I scroll down. It is so difficult to explain that I captured a video, which I'll upload to google drive: <https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-u3TFGyEL_ZL2-aOp5xNjOFzBxNSDb5A/view?usp=sharing> - -- Cheers Carlos E. R. I'm not familiar with Google Drive so maybe I'm missing something. When I go to that page I see the static video frame, but trying to play the video I get 'An error occurred' and the standard Google/YouTube fuzzy screen effect. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Plays fine here. Perhaps instead of playing you need to download the file instead (down pointing arrow at top right when hovering with the mouse). -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.3 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)

I had the same experience as gumb and tried to download, but it doesn't show how big the file is so I abandoned the download at 40 MB. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I meant to say of the images, not videos.
Linked pngs. Saves document size. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.3 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)

The document is a plain text document with _static_ JPG images, which LibreOffice is constantly refreshing, so the blink one by one in turn as you see in the video. They should be fully static, they are plain images, photos, not videos. JPGs. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.3 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)

It was; I disabled it and the flicker remains, but slower. I forgot to say the version: cer@Telcontar:~> rpm -qa | grep -i libreoffice | grep -i writer libreoffice-writer-extensions-6.0.4.2-21.1.x86_64 libreoffice-writer-6.0.4.2-21.1.x86_64 cer@Telcontar:~> Seems to be the current official version available. On Leap 42.3, XFCE. I see on yast that I don't have installed the LO gtk interface, so installing it now (and some system updates). I seem to recall that there was some problem with the gtk interface time ago and I removed it. I'll try it again. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.3 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)
