[opensuse] adjust mouse click/double-click timing on Tw
there was mouse configuration in systemsettings5 -> input devices -> mouse to adjust the interval considered for double clicking but is no longer there. lately my mouse, logitech thumb track-ball has become quite touchy with click timing and I wanted to try to lengthen/increase the time delay for double click interval to perhaps solve. how may I now adjust that timing. and I have no /etc/X11/xorg.conf and grep -ir mouse /etc/X11/* has no output or blank output tks, -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

yes, I believed you and I see that, but ... why do I not have that option? and where would the settings be stored as it would be probably easier to alter the "stored" parameters than troubleshoot and/or correct the missing "Advanced" tab on all my Tw installs? tks, -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

As per [0],
You need to be using evdev instead of libinput to have the advanced settings tab.
You can change the double click rate manually by changing DoubleClickInterval in the KDE section of ~/.config/kdeglobals
The other mouse settings are in ~/.config/kaccessrc and ~/.config/kcminputrc

but tks,
ok, added "DoubleClickInterval=400" to "KDE" section of kdeblobals and restarted plasmashell and it appears to have helped aleviate my clicking interval problem. will observe for a period before proclaiming success. tks much, -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hmmm, That was the old default for years and years and years: $ cd ~/.kde/share/config/ $ grep Double * <snip> kdeglobals:DoubleClickInterval=400 <snip> Oh well, glad you got it. -- David C.
