Yes I did. Even had a reboot in there because of a new kernel download, no difference.

I've tried a few distributions over the years and this effect is not limited to SuSE. I've come to the conclusion that if the program is not in the standard install list, then, there is a chance it will not show in the menu list. I've also come across this problem when installing a gnome app in a kde desktop and also the other way round, kde app in gnome desktop. Could it be that the various distributions have the menu system set up to expect only certain programs to be installed? Peter C
