I am considering whether to buy SuSE Linux 9.0 personal or professional, but there is precious little information on the SuSE website about the difference between the two. I might even go so far as to say, none (aside from some vague statements like "easy LAN integration" and "software development tools." I would really like to see something like the "product comparison chart" for 8.2 at http://www.suse.com/us/private/products/suse_linux/i386/pers_prof.html Although, even this could use links to a LOT more specifics. For instance, the chart says that SuSE Professional contains "scientific software," whereas the personal version does not. As I am a scientific user, this interests me, but I am not about to buy the professional version on the mere promise of "scientific software" that may in fact be of no use to me. For instance, chemistry-related software will not generally be of use to a space plasma physicist. Under "Security software", the above chart says that SuSE 8.2 personal has "basic" security software, and professional has "full" security software. How am I to know what this means? The page on Security under SuSE 8.2 does not contain a software list, just a lecture on not using root for daily tasks, and sales pitches for SuSE firewall and YAST. While I understand that the basic goal of these pages is to sell the software, I cannot make an informed decision until I have specific information. Is there any place I can go to find out, specifically, what the differences are (will be?) between SuSE 9.0 personal and professional? Thanks, Andy
