1. Set the variable DISPLAYMANAGER in your /etc/rc.config to either "xdm" or "kdm" 2. Comment out the lines concerning your local display (lines beginning with :0 local) in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/Xservers 3. Uncomment the (last?) line in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/xdm-config concerning your DisplayManager.requestPort and set it to 177 4. Run SuSEconfig 5. Restart either xdm (/sbin/init.d/xdm restart) or the whole machine 6. Enjoy it!
