It may be an idea to verify that the image itself is okay using any of these:
checkmedia openSUSE-11.1-NET-ppc.iso md5sum -c openSUSE-11.1-NET-ppc.iso.md5 sha1 -c openSUSE-11.1-NET-ppc.iso.sha1

The "checkmedia openSUSE-11.1-NET-ppc.iso" command checks the contents of the image and is the same check that YaST can do at the start of the installation.
