Maybe an Apple forum? Or a Cult of Mac support group? I didn't know you could get a mac on the network. Do you have Apple Talk? -- kai www.perfectreign.com | www.ecmplace.com www.twitter.com/PerfectReign -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi, here are links to howto's that I wrote and placed on the openSUSE site. See if they can help you. http://en.opensuse.org/SuSE_FTP_Net_Install_with_screenshots http://en.opensuse.org/SuSE_HTTP_Net_Install_with_screenshots You will have to replace the 32 bit pc selection with powerpc selection when you make the net install cd. Sure you can. All you need is the Mac address. ;-) -- Use OpenOffice.org http://www.openoffice.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I just know that my Mac has no network connectivity. http://www.perfectreign.com/stuff/2009/darth_mac.jpg There's the guy that sits in my office and glares over at me. Now - back On Topic so Shannon won't get mad. Anyone know of a good Crystal Quest port to openSUSE? I recently found Stella working and have an abundance of Atari 2600 games for openSUSE - http://www.perfectreign.com/stuff/2009/20090321_stella_pitfall.jpg - but not Crystal Quest. (Yes, I have googled.) -- kai www.perfectreign.com | www.ecmplace.com www.twitter.com/PerfectReign -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

That depends on just what sort of help you require. If it's a question of will it work, in my experience the answer is yes. If it's anything else, just ask the questions. You may get the answers on this list, although it's pretty unlikely to be from me. It's close to two years since I did a net-install on a Mac, and I used Debian rather than openSUSE. You might find the opensuse-ppc mailing list more helpful, since it is specific to the PPC architecture and all the posters on that list use PPC based systems. You can have a look through the archives here: URL:http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-ppc/ And the subscription address can be found here: URL:http://en.opensuse.org/Communicate/Mailinglists#Architecture_Lists Regards, David Bolt -- Team Acorn: http://www.distributed.net/ OGR-NG @ ~100Mnodes RC5-72 @ ~1Mkeys/s openSUSE 10.3 32b | openSUSE 11.0 32b | | openSUSE 10.3 64b | openSUSE 11.0 64b | openSUSE 11.1 64b | openSUSE 10.3 PPC | RISC OS 3.6 | RISC OS 3.11 | TOS 4.02 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Try burning at a slower speed. My general rule is to burn DVDs no faster than 8x, even on my fastest machines, or CDs faster than 24x. It may be an idea to verify that the image itself is okay using any of these: checkmedia openSUSE-11.1-NET-ppc.iso md5sum -c openSUSE-11.1-NET-ppc.iso.md5 sha1 -c openSUSE-11.1-NET-ppc.iso.sha1 You can find the md5 and sha1 checksum files here: URL:http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.1/iso/openSUSE-11.1-NET-ppc... URL:http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.1/iso/openSUSE-11.1-NET-ppc... The "checkmedia openSUSE-11.1-NET-ppc.iso" command checks the contents of the image and is the same check that YaST can do at the start of the installation.
