I do not have any of the chat programs installed and configured on this computer. More to the point, however, is that I have never used a chat program and have no working knowledge of how to use one.
If you have Mozilla installed without the standard included Chatzilla, shame on your installer, as if you were reading this in Mozilla Mail you would need no more than click this: irc://freenode/suse . If you do have Mozilla with Chatzilla but aren't using Mozilla Mail to read this, you can paste the URL in to Mozilla's urlbar to open CZ directly into the Freenode SuSE chatroom. If your Mozilla is missing CZ, load this to quickly install the small Chatzilla extension: http://www.hacksrus.com/~ginda/chatzilla/xpi/chatzilla-0.9.68.5.xpi You may need to save to disk first, and you may need to do it as root. You also have the option to use Firefox to load the exact same Chatzilla extension. As it opens, you'll want to choose some appropriate nickname to use instead of IRCMonkey. Other than that, just type to say something, and read what you or anyone else has to say in virtual real time.
