Now I really start wondering: What focus mode do you use? Is no one actually using follows-mouse? Or are you using it, but don't care about the bug?
I'm not using it.
At least for me, I cannot really tell which is worse - having to click each time I change the focus
I generally use Alt-Tab to change focus, only occasionally do I click on the task-bar instead.
Same here. The idea of moving the mouse pointer away so I can see what's there or type in the window unobstructed, but then loosing the focus because the pointer is no longer in the window seems counter-productive. 'follows-mouse', when I've tried it, seems to have the effect of making the windows look more like a rotating kaleidoscope toy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXp0VeIJpKY -- When you are in any contest you should work as if there were - to the very last minute - a chance to lose it.
