There is a .ps file somewhere that explains this, although I can't locate it at the moment. You best bet is to reinstall the package because IIRC after the installation, it will send mail to root with instructions. The email might still be there under root's account. It seems like you haven't setup forwarding of root's mail to a regular account. If you don't get the mail try uninstalling it and then install it again. I am not the sure whether the mail will be sent if you just reinstall. Judging by the location of your rc.firewall, you are probably using 6.3. There is an updated package for it. The location of the config file have been changed to the /etc/rc.config.d directory. If you are still having problems please tell me the interface name that you connect to your isp with (ie. ppp?, eth?, ippp?, etc..) and whether you have a permanent connection to the net or use dialup. I will be happy to send you a working configuration. BTW the SuSE firewall is quite comprehensive. I have tested it quite a bit and it works well.
