Hi,
I'm looking at getting a new 9 GB hard disk. When looking at the different drives available I'm a bit confused regarding LVD SCSI drives and to whether they are compatible with the Adaptec 2940UW adapter.
Any recommendations on a suitable drives for this controller.
I picked up a 9 GB IBM LVD drive a few months ago for ~$250 US. There are jumpers on it to make it compatible with UW (non-LVD) controllers. I am quite pleased with its performance and am planning to get another one for my Alpha (which has a non-LVD wide controller) when cash will allow. I'm fairly certain most (all?) LVD drives have a similiar setup for backward compatibility but you should check to be absolutely certain. Data sheets should be available on the manufacturers web sites Tim -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
