Joe. A suggestion. Get on with your important work. Forget the Zip
drive for now - not forever, just for now. Relax and get used to
using Linux a bit more. It is meant to be used not to be continually
fiddled with. Linux is supposed to be a productive operating system.
If people appear to be getting alittle shirty with you accept the
rebukes with grace. You soon get used to them. I had to :-) I still
get them now and I've been learning Linux since 1996 - still not got
very far yet ;-)))) I'm afraid you will have to accept that some
people don't have as long a temper as you or I. That's fine because
we are all human and as such we are all different. It's good to have
a short fuse sometimes and it can spur you on to trying harder next
time.
Once you have all the important stuff done and dusted go back to
tinkering and you will probably find that you have a lot more
confidence in the operating system :-)
A quick question about the USB drive/stick. How long did you wait for
it to be recognised? On one of my PCs it can take a few minutes for a
newly plugged in USB device to appear.
