Hi All, One of my routers is giving me a weird error. I'm setting up a dial out capability using pppd with ppp-on and ppp-off scripts. The weirdness occurs when I try to dial out. The first time the script connects flawlessly. The second connection attempt fails when Chat reports 'NO CARRIER'. The odd thing is it never even tried to dial. As I understand it, 'NO CARRIER' is error that occurs when the modem on the other end hangs up unexpectedly. Why would I get a 'NO CARRIER' error before the connection is even made. If I retry the connection attempt, it agains work flawlessly. The only clue I have is that the first connect leaves the HS indicator lit on my USR V.everything modem when it hangs up. Then the second attempt fails but does manage to turn off HS. The the third attempt works fine. Can someone give some clue as to what's happening here? Thanks.
