I dont think that is a fair comment really this version of KDE 4.5.5 seems prety good there are a few little glitches here and there certain things that i would like to see made a user choice instead of it's there like it or lump it .
Further the assumption that anyone comes tabula rasa to KDE is beyond arrogant when Linux itself has less than 3% penetration. Everyone knows about ctrl-click and shift-click long before the discover Linux or KDE. Even the belligerent Sven knew about those key combos.
Ah come on, you try too hard. Since those shortcuts work as well in KDE there is nothing lost because of the "+" and using "everyone" just makes it too easy to prove you wrong. There are plenty of Windows users who do not know about this and I would just need one to prove you wrong. The "+" is a usability plus for those who do not know about the combination or are more mouse oriented - and of course you could apparently not argue against the reasons given, otherwise you would have done. So thanks for confirming my assumption about the attitude behind that original message of yours.
